Guayaquil airport (IATA: GYE), together with Quito airport, concentrate most of Ecuador’s international and domestic flights. During 2019, around 4 million passengers passed through the airport. It is located in the urban area, 5 km from the historic center of Guayaquil. (SEE MAP).
Although there are no hotels within the airport complex, being within the urban community, there are several accommodation alternatives located near the passenger terminal.

The terminal has restaurants, cafes and bars (several available 24 hours), in addition to several shops, including 24-hour duty free, regional products, delicatessens, lottery and tourist agencies. Currency exchange and ATM services, a bank branch, convenience stores, VIP lounges and services, luggage storage services and protective luggage packaging are also available, as well as a pharmacy and massage services.
Public and Private Transport
Taxis have their official stop next to the entrance to the terminal building while the meeting with Uber must be coordinated with the driver, since the entrance and exit of the terminal is an exclusive area for taxis. See more
Executive transfer door to door
Vansertrans (Tel +593 4 216 9294) has offices in the International Arrivals Hall and provides door-to-door services 24 hours a day, with private cars and vans.
The Metroexpress trunk service runs through the city from south to north, from Terminal 25 de Julio to Terminal Río Daule, passing through Mall del Sur, Viejo Cangrejal, Plaza de Artes, Mercado Cuatro Manzanas and Plaza del Centenario. Ticket cost 0.30 USD
